About Roy William
My name is Roy William — a retired professional photographer from Norway — and this is where I share some of my personal projects. Enjoy.
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
— Elliott Erwitt (1928–2023)
I got my first camera in 1971, and began my photography education in 1975 (part-time), followed by full-time studies in 1976.
After many years working mainly with portrait photography, I’ve learned that the most important skill is not the camera — it’s the ability to observe people and understand what they want to express.
In the late 1980s I was one of the top 1% professional portrait photographers in Norway. Over the years I’ve completed 5,000+ photo shoots, including portraits and weddings.
If you’d like to surprise your partner with tasteful boudoir portraits, that’s something I’m especially good at.
Let’s create something together
I take a limited number of portrait sessions and fine-art commissions. If you have an idea (or just a mood you want to capture), send me a short message and tell me: location, preferred date range, and what the images are for.
Why not Instagram or Facebook? Follow me here…
Because I don’t like having to censor art. Here I can present work in full context, the way it was intended.
This site is always under construction — in the best possible way.
